Peggy Morton Wilson

    ELON, N.C. — Peggy Morton Wilson, age 80, of Gibsonville-Ossipee Road went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 28, 2009.

She was a native of Alamance County and the wife of 56 years to the late Desmont “D.T.” Taylor Wilson.

    Peggy was the owner and operator of Peggy Ann’s Beauty Shop for 46 years. She was a member of Berea Christian Church. Peggy was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

    Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Sue Wilson Walters and her husband Buck of Knoxville, Tennessee and Kim Wilson Townsend and her husband Louis of the home; her grandson, Taylor Louis Townsend of the home; granddaughter, Amy Walters Massengill and her husband Brian of Knoxville, Tennessee; and her sister, Hazel Robertson of Burlington.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, D.T. Wilson; parents, Junius Everette Morton and Sally Price Morton; sisters, Edith Tunstall and Alyse Simpson; brothers, Frank, John E., Vance and Russell V. Morton.

    A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Berea Christian Church by the Rev. Bland Leebrick and her nephew the Rev. David Morton and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at the home.
