Evelyn Cole Chrismon
1922 ~ 2021 (age 99)
Evelyn Cole Chrismon, 99, passed away at her home on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.
A native of Guilford County she was the wife of 68 years to Garland Edward Chrismon (deceased) and the daughter of Lum C. Cole and Sally Pritchett Cole.
She is preceded in death by a son, William W. Chrismon and a daughter, Kay C. Hartley.
Surviving children are Janice Lambert, Gail Turner, Betty Saul (Leon), Carol Allen (Mike), Becky Smith (Lacy) and a son Arthur Chrismon, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren.
Our mother spent her entire life loving, teaching and encouraging those around her. Her heart was the biggest gift she had to give and it was definitely a servant’s heart. She also had the hands of a servant as we watched her use them to glorify God our entire life. She was an avid gardener who loved to grow her own vegetables and flowers. She also loved being surrounded by her family and our Sunday lunch was a life long family tradition. God gifted us with an extraordinary mother and we will forever cherish her and the life lessons she taught each on of us in her own special way.
A private graveside service will be held to celebrate her life by her own son-in-law Leon Saul. Burial will follow in the family cemetery at the homeplace.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to her special care givers, Leah Wright and JoAnne Wright.
The family would also like to express their deepest thanks to the professional care provided by Hospice and request in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice of Alamance. 256, Evelyn Cole Chrismon
