GIBSONVILLE — Edith Faucette Lewis, age 82, of 8164 Troxler Mill Road, passed away Monday June 8, 2009 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Cyrus Ervin Lewis and daughter of the late Ernest and Cletus Mansfield Faucette. She was a longtime member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, a life member of the United Methodist Women, Christian Workers Sunday School Class and a former choir member. She retired from P. Lorillard Tobacco Co. with over 30 years of service.
Survivors include her son, Ervin Lewis Jr. and wife Shirley; grandson, Edward L. Lewis, all of Gibsonville; sister, Maybud Leath of Burlington.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday June 11, 2009 at Shiloh United Methodist Church by Rev. David Starks, pastor. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Lewis will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and at the home at other times.
Memorials may be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church, c/o Emory Gilliam, 4219 N.C. 87 North, Elon, N.C. 27244.
