GRAHAM — Mrs. Sandra Kay Self Dix , 63, of 208 East Hanover Road, Graham, died at her residence on Monday, November 26, 2007.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Earl F. Dix Sr., who survives and the daughter of Braxton Self and Mattie Mae Lassiter Self , both deceased. She was a retired nursing home operator and supervisor. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband of Graham, survivors include a daughter, Lynetra Kay Chappell of Mebane; two sons, Earl F. "Frankie" Dix Jr. of Graham and Jason David Dix of Mebane; four grandchildren, Joshua Chappell, Caleb Dix , Brittney Kay Dix , and Zachary Braxton Dix ; one great-grandson, Caedon Chappell; two stepgrandchildren, T.J. Dix and Blair Smith; and one brother, Donald Lee Self and wife, Sue, of Graham.
She was preceded in death by one brother.
The funeral will be conducted at Tabernacle Baptist Church on Thursday, November 29, 2007 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Norman Fargis and the Rev. Curtis Oakley. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home in Graham on Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m., and at other times they will be at the residence.
