Myrtle Hooper Dellinger
GASTONIA — Myrtle Hooper Dellinger , 86, of Gastonia, N.C., died Wednesday, November 28, 2007, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
She was a native of Caswell County, N.C., and was the daughter of the late Ugar Lafayette and Rosa Rainey Hooper.
Private entombment will be in Gaston Memorial Park Mausoleum.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 1, 2007, at Covenant Village, 1351 Robinwood Road, Gastonia by Chaplain Jack Weisenhorn.
Visitation will follow the memorial service.
Mrs. Dellinger, as a nurse, helped close the last polio ward at the Gaston Orthopedic Hospital. Mrs. Dellinger and her husband were owners of Dellinger’s Jewelers.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she was on the Altar committee and member of the Methodist Women’s Circle. She also served as a Hospital Auxiliary member.
Survivors include children, Kenneth Dellinger Jr. and wife, Betty, of Redwood Shores, Calif.; daughters, Kyn Paganello of Foster City, Calif., Kay Hollfelder and husband, Jack, of Naperville, Ill.; a brother, Woodrow Hooper and wife, Alma, of Burlington, N.C.; grandchildren, John and Brett Hollfelder, Samantha, Shannon and Sydney Dellinger.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Kenneth E. Dellinger.
