GIBSONVILLE — Peggy Apple McKinney , 75, of 6426 Osceola-Ossipee Road, passed away January 9, 2008, at her residence after an extended illness. Mrs. McKinney was born in Guilford County, to the late Walter Ernest Apple and Mary Mildred Mayberry Apple Sutton. She was a member of Apple’s Chapel Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband, John "Johnny" McKinney of the home; daughters, Denise Riddle and her husband, Eric, of Valdese, Brenda Lynn and her husband, David, of Browns Summit; grandchildren, David Lynn Jr., Jennie Lynn, Christopher Riddle and Zachary Riddle; sister, Linda Jones and her husband, Harry, of Jamestown; and brother, Jerry Apple and his wife, Patricia, of Elon.
Mrs. McKinney was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Scarlett McKinney ; parents; and a brother, Leonard Apple .
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2008, at Apple’s Chapel Christian Church by the Rev. C. Allen Myers III and the Rev. Tim Geiger. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Apple’s Chapel Christian Church.
