Charlotte Ann Stanfield Murphy
MEBANE — Our dearly beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother has departed this life to join her husband Howard Murphy, following a long illness.
Charlotte Ann Stanfi eld Murphy was born Dec. 5, 1922, in Guilford County, N.C., to Earl O. and Berta Stallings Stanfi eld. She graduated from Prospect Hill High School. Charlotte loved her family and gardening. She was an active member of her church community and her children’s lives. She attended Hebron Methodist Church for many years. She participated in many activities of the local American Legion, of which her husband was a member. She was a homemaker and farmed alongside her husband for many years.
Charlotte leaves behind her daughters, Betty Ives of Georgia and Bonnie Hiner of Indiana; and her son, Randy Howard, of the home; granddaughters, Jennifer (Andy) Reeves of Indiana and Charlotte Ives of New York City; and great-grandchildren, Hallie and Jackson Reeves of Indiana.
Preceeding her in death besides her husband and parents are fi ve brothers, McKnight, Robert, Arthur, Andrew and William Stanfi eld.
Harrelson Funeral Home in Yanceyville is assisting with the arrangements. Visiting will be Monday, July 1, 2013, at Harrelson Funeral Home from 1 to 2 p.m. with services in the chapel at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Hyco Cemetery on Corbett Ridge Road following the chapel service.
We wish to thank Alamance-Caswell Hospice for their support and love for our mother and family. We especially thank Doretha Corbett, Janet Hitichens, all the nurses, Wanda, Robin, Ellen, Rosa and others who helped make her feel special.
Betty and Bonnie would like to thank Randy for his devotion in caring for their mother.

Charlotte Ann Stanfield Murphy was the daughter of Berta Stallings and Earl O. Stanfield; spouse of Howard Murphy; mother of Betty Murphy Ives, Bonnie Murphy Hiner and Randy Howard Murphy; grandmother of Jennifer Reeves and Charlotte Ives; great-grandmother of Hallie Reeves and Jackson Reeves and sibling of McKnight Stanfield, Robert Stanfield, Arthur Stanfield, Andrew Stanfield and William Stanfield.
