HAW RIVER — Artelia Reid Sykes, 85, of Haw River, died Monday, February 25, 2008, at the Hospice Home.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Willis James Sykes Sr. and the daughter of the late William G. and Lavinia Norman Reid. She was retired from Baker-Cammack Hosiery.
Survivors include a son, James and Dorothy Sykes of Elon; sisters, Gladys Minor and Delilah Ellis, both of Graham and Letha Browder of Goose Creek, S.C.; grandchildren, Travis Sykes and Michael Sykes; and a greatgrandchild, Sierra Sykes.
She was preceded in death by brothers, William Reid and Jasper Reid; and sisters, Mildred Douglas, Sarah G. Womach, Mary P. Hodgin and Dovie Ann Thompson.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Graham Memorial Park by the Rev. Dave Gilbert.
The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

HAW RIVER — Artelia Reid Sykes, 85, of Haw River, died Monday, February 25, 2008, at the Hospice Home.
