Ms. Emma Faye Clapp Gerner Ammons

    WHITSETT — Ms. Emma Faye Clapp Gerner Ammons, 78, of 1916 Anders Court, died Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at her home.

    A native of Guilford County, she was the daughter of the late Harvey L. Clapp and the late Bessie Barber Clapp. She was retired from P. Lorillard Tobacco Company with over 38 years of service and was a member of Mt. Hope United Church of Christ.

    Mrs. Ammons is survived by her son, Bennie H. Gerner and his wife, Judy, of Julian; a granddaughter, Kristin Gerner Vaughn and her husband, Mike, of Cumming, Ga.; a greatgrandson, Jonathan Michael Vaughn; and a sister, Hazel Clapp Roberts of Whitsett.

    She was preceded in death by her grandson, Jonathan Vance Gerner.

    The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2008, at Mt. Hope United Church of Christ by the Rev. Lloyd Spencer. Entombment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum.

    The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory, and other times at the home of her son, Bennie Gerner, 2907 Mt. Hope Church Road.
