Obituary Online notes for Melvin H. SHICK
Melvin H. Shick, 85, of Belton, Texas, died Sunday March 1995 in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Temple, Texas.

He was born on Oct. 15, 1909, in Mount Carmel, Pa., a son of Edgar and Ida Shick.

After military service in World War II, Mr. Shick married Margie Lee Phipps in Waynesboro, Va. in 1949 and moved to Grottoes, where they lived until November of 1992 when they moved to Belton, Texas. For the past month, Mr. Shick has been a resident of Indian Oaks Nursing Center in Harker Heights, Texas. Mr. Shick retired in 1972 from General Electric and was a noted civic and Christian leader through-out his life.

Survivors include his wife Margie Lee Shick of Belton, Texas; three daughters, Gayle Shull of Belton, Texas, Doris DeNudt of Riga, Michigan, and Ruth Paschal of Winston Salem, N.C.; one sister, Miriam Taylor of Allentown, Pa.; two brothers, Orville Shick of Danville, California and Kenneth Shick of Indialantic, Fla.; one granddaughter, Morgan DeNudt, and one grandson, Miles DeNudt.

A graveside service will be held at 10:15 a.m. Thursday (March 16) at Edgewood Cemetery in Grottoes, Va. A memorial service will immediately follow at the nearby Mount Horeb Presbyterian with the Paul O’Gorek

The family will receive friends from Wednesday in the Waynesboro Chapel of Etter Funeral Home.
