Mrs. Gracie Lowe Qualls
ELON — Mrs. Gracie Lowe Qualls of 1878 Prince Edward Drive, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Alamance County, and wife of the late Herbert Bouie Qualls. She was the daughter of the late Uesyles S. Lowe and Mary Susan Goodman Lowe. Mrs. Qualls was an avid cook and gardener and was a member of People’s Memorial Christian Church. Due to her love for children, she owned and operated a day care for several years. She was also a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, but most of all she dearly loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca Qualls Holt and husband, Robert, of Wilmington; son, Douglas Qualls and wife, Delores, of Elon; a daughter-in-law Marie Caldwell Qualls; grandchildren, Scott Allison of Greensboro, Sherry Q. Dekker and husband, John, of Cary, Diane Q. Rahimtoola and husband, Sharif, of Mebane, John H. Qualls and wife, Crystal, of Mooresville; great-grandchildren, Dylan Dekker, Becca Rose Rahimtoola and Kayden Qualls.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a son, Jerry B. Qualls; a daughter-in-law June Allison; two sisters and two brothers.
At her request there will be no visitation.
A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Alamance Memorial Park by the Rev. Chris Allman and the Rev. Tim Satterfield.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday following the service, at the home of Douglas and Delores, 1101 Brookview Drive, Elon.
