Jewell Conner Simmons
   BURLINGTON — Jewell Conner Simmons, 72, of 81 Porter G. Simmons Road, passed away Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

   A native of Rutherford County, she was the wife of Johnny C. Simmons and daughter of the late Clyde Freeman and Lillie Brown Conner. She was a lifelong homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

   Survivors include her husband, Johnny C. Simmons, of the home; son, Kenneth Wayne Conner of Old Fort; brothers, Carroll Conner and Jerry Conner, both of Tryon, Jack Conner of Newton, Ray Conner of Marion and Pat Conner of Old Fort; sisters, Josephine C. Brown and Karen C. Harris, both of Marion, Peggy C. Davis of Old Fort.

   She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Lillie C. Hodge.

   The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2012 from 6-8pm.

   Funeral services will be held at a later date in Old Fort, N.C.
