Obituary Online notes for Hobart Woodrow COBLE II
WHITSETT, N.C. - Mr. Hobert Woodrow "H.W." Coble II, age 69, died Friday, September 7, 2012, at the Hospice Home after several years of failing health.
A native of Guilford County he was the son of the late Hobert Woodrow Coble and the late Inez Bishop Coble and was married for 47 years to Mrs. Lorena Greeson Coble, who died in 2011. "H.W." graduated from Nathanael Greene High School in 1961, and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed gardening and fishing.
Mr. Coble is survived by his two daughters, Melinda C. Pinson and her husband, Dr. Matthew Pinson, of Nashville, Tenn., and Kimberly C. Shinn and her husband, Jason, of Julian; four grandchildren, Anna Pinson, Matthew Pinson Jr., Cora Shinn and Cason Shinn; a sister, Joanne Clapp and her husband, Max, of Liberty; and a brother, Gary Coble and his wife, Peggy, of Liberty.
The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Monday, September 10, 2012, at Mt. Hope United Church of Christ by the Rev. Lloyd Spencer and Dr. Matthew Pinson. Military honors will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Coble will lie in state one hour prior to the service and the family will receive friends in the church sanctuary following the graveside committal service and at other times at the daughter, Kim's home, 5636 Baptist Assembly Road, Julian.
The family would like to thank the staffs of Burlington Manor Assisted Living and the Alamance-Caswell Hospice Home for the wonderful and thoughtful care of Mr. Coble.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215 or to Mt. Hope United Church of Christ, 2400 Mt. Hope Church Rd., Whitsett, NC 27377.
