Lucille George Majors
GRAHAM — Mrs. Lucille G. Majors, 89, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2008, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Majors was born on April 29, 1919, in Durham. She was the wife of the late Oscar R. Majors Sr. and the daughter of Purvis and Novella George, both deceased.
She is survived by three sons, J.R. Majors and wife, Jean, James Majors and wife, Sheila, all of Graham, and Oscar Majors and wife, Jane, of Snow Camp; one stepson, Buddy Joe Majors; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Aleene Mashburn of Durham and Elizabeth Ivey of Burlington.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Azzlee Brannock.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at Harvest Hills Church where she was a devoted and longtime member. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Park. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Monday from 6 until 8 p.m. They will also receive friends and family on Monday from noon until 3 p.m. at the residence of a grandson, Darrell Majors, at 519 Dixon Road in Graham.
Mrs. Majors’ family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to all of the staff at Alamance Health Care for the excellent care they provided.
