Virginia Garrison Kernodle 


    ELON — Virginia Garrison Kernodle , age 74, of Kerr Chapel Road, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at the Hospice Home.
    She was the wife of Howard Lee Kernodle , who survives. Virginia was employed for many years with Flint Hosiery. She attended Pilgrims Chapel and St. Regis Chapel. Virginia enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and collecting dolls. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
    Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, John David Kernodle  and his wife, LaDania, Larry Kernodle  and his wife, Lorrie, all of Burlington; daughters and sonin-law, Lorraine Martin, Tina Kernodle , Robin Jordan and her husband, Joey, all of Elon; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Cholly Deaneen Kimrey; father, Aubrey Frank Garrison; mother, Viola Moore Wantrobski; stepfather, John Wantrobski; stepmother, Dot Robertson; sister, Verona Taylor.
    The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 11 a. m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. D. L. Perry. Burial will follow at Concord Christian Church cemetery.
    The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home, and other times at the home of the daughter, Robin Jordan, 2518 Ossipee Front Street, Elon, N.C. 27244.
    Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215.
