REIDSVILLE — Doris Purdy Truitt, 70, of 1846 Pennrose Dr. Reidsville, N.C. went to be with the Lord Wednesday January 27, 2010 at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County.
Because of impending inclement weather, Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m.. Friday January 29, 2010 at First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Reidlawn Cemetery.
A native of Rockingham County, she was a daughter of the late James C. and Edna Goard Purdy and had lived in Reidsville most of her life. A retired employee of Creighton Shirt Factory, she was a member of First United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her first husband Herman R. Lamb, a sister Frances P. Wall and a brother Thomas Purdy.
Surviving are husband Bobby G. Truitt of the home; step-son Robert Truitt and wife Lori of Burlington; step-daughters Lois T. McPherson and husband Keith of Snow Camp and Kathy T. Saunders and husband Johnny of Statesville; brothers James Purdy of Eden and Lester Purdy of Walnut Cove; sisters Arlene Wheatley of Eden and Mary Pulliam of Eden; five grandchildren; and her special dog, Charlie
The family will see friends 10:00 till 11 a.m.. Friday January 29, 2010 at First United Methodist Church and at other times will be at the residence.
Memorials may be made to: The American Caner Society 4A Oak Branch Dr. Greensboro, N.C. 27407.
