Mrs. Daisy Viola Ferguson Johnson


    SALISBURY — Mrs. Daisy Viola Ferguson Johnson, 87, formerly of Mt. Olive Church Road, Pittsboro, N.C., died Monday, at Carillon Assisted Living in Salisbury after several years of failing health.
    A native of Orange County, she was the wife of the late Clayton William Johnson and the daughter of William and Daisy Fowler Ferguson, both deceased. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
    Survivors include grandchildren, Richard Dawson and wife Gina, Debbie Luther and husband, Doug, Tony Johnson and wife, Andrea; along with several great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; children, (Becky Cridlebaugh and Billy Johnson), granddaughter, Dee Johnson; sisters, Margaret Braxton, Blonzi Cole, Josie Hill, Mattie Perry, Willie Mae Williams and Lizzie Perry; and brothers, Carl Ferguson and Seaton Ferguson.
    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Shelby Stephens and the Rev. E. Paul West. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church Fellowship Hall following the service.
