Obituary Online notes for “Bett” Betty Margaret McADOO
GREENSBORO — On Friday, September 10, 2010, Betty McAdoo Albright, 84, left those that she loved and those that loved her.
A 2:00 P.M. funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at Buffalo Presbyterian Church.
The family will receive friends at the church at 12:30 p.m., prior to the service.
Mrs. Albright was born July 10, 1926, to the late William Frank McAdoo and Lillian Thomas McAdoo.
She was a graduate of St. Leo's School of Nursing and devoted her life to helping others as a registered nurse. She also served as a US Army Cadet Nurse. Of her many passions in life, Betty loved classical music and was an excellent cook. As a Master Gardener, she was a member of The Greensboro Rose Society. In addition, she was a member of The Rachael Caldwell Chapter of The Daughters of The American Revolution and a member of Children of The Pilgrims. Most importantly, she was always involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents.
Mrs. Albright was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Glenn Albright, Jr.
Betty is survived by three sons, Lonnie Glenn Albright III (Susan), Clyde Ballinger Albright (Kathleen Patterson) and David McAdoo Albright (Rebecca), all of Greensboro.
In addition, she is survived by six grandchildren, Daniel, Julie, Charles, Benjamin, Savannah and Harrison. Surviving also are sisters, Nancy McAdoo Yow and Gwen McAdoo Jones.
The family would like to express their thanks to Hospice of Greensboro and the caregivers of Home Instead who attended to Mrs. Albright's needs in the final months.
Special appreciation is also given to the wonderful staff of Guilford Medical Associates and to Dr. Richard Aronson as they cared for Mrs. Albright.
