Beverly “Bev” R. Souther

GIBSONVILLE - Beverly “Bev” Riggins Souther, 62, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the Hospice Home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Guilford County on January 3, 1955 to the late Charles Edward and Kay Frances Young Riggins.

Beverly was a member of Gibsonville United Methodist Church and worked for State Farm Insurance as an agent for over 30 years. She was known for her hard work and love for her customers. She enjoyed horseback riding and developed many skills as an equestrian as she won the title of Appaloosa Queen in Tennessee. She enjoyed the beach and was an animal lover.

As Beverly battled cancer for the last 4 ½ years, she gained a new perspective and appreciation for her friends, family and the many simple everyday activities that we often take for granted. She lit up a room with her presence and her joy and laughter became infectious.

As Beverly’s love grew for others, she also felt loved more than ever before. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and her dog, “Snooki”.
She is survived by her daughter, Nikki Kerr and husband, Christopher; son, Gavan Holden and significant other, Tika Fowler; grandsons, Josiah and Oliver; sisters, Alisa Riggins, Alison Folwell and husband Darren; brothers, Jaime “Jim” Riggins and wife Marcia, Steve Riggins and wife Robin; aunts and uncle, Faye Dennis and Jim Young and wife Pam.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Alamance Memorial Park by her sister, Alison Folwell and Pastor J.D. Weed. Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215 or to the Human Society of Alamance County, 2444 Tribek Ct, Burlington, NC 27215.
