Phyllis Boone DeRita


BURLINGTON - Phyllis Boone DeRita, 82, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 18, 2020. She was a native of Caswell County and the wife of the late Frank De-Rita. She was the daughter of the late Ben and Bessie Page Boone.
Phyllis retired as a Registered Nurse after 32 years at Alamance Regional Hospital. Her specialty was Psychology and Schizophrenia and Bi Polar disorders. She loved working with patients and their families. In her spare time, she loved flowers, gardening, music and traveling.

Survivors include her son, Daniel Carmine De-Rita; brothers: Thurman “Pop” Boone and wife, Jane of Burlington; sister-inlaw and Rachel Boone of Siler City; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband and parents, Phyllis was predeceased by a son, David DeRita; brothers, Ronald Boone and Gene Boone; and sister, Lois Chandler.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Father Paul Lininger. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The service will be live streamed and available for viewing. Phyllis will be available for public viewing from 1-5:00 PM on Tuesday and 9-12:45 PM on Wednesday here at the funeral home.
