Shirley Carden Troxler
BURLINGTON - Shirley Carden Troxler, 78, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 20, 2017. She was a native of Alamance County and the wife of the late Henry Louis Troxler.
Shirley was a homemaker and her family was her passion. She enjoyed making fried pies, watching lifetime movies and reading. Family Feud was her favorite TV show, especially the host, Steve Harvey. She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who got to spend many happy hours with her.
Survivors include her daughters, Lisa Watkins and husband, Tony and Cheryl McKinney and husband, Jimmy all of Burlington; grandchildren, John Thomas Wesson, Krystal Ann Moon and husband, Mark Moon, Jr., James L. Wesson, Joshua Clay Cecil and girlfriend, Stephanie Gaddy, Kendall Brooke McKinney and boyfriend, Nathaniel Foust; great grandchildren, Austin Thomas Wesson, Hailey Nicole Wesson, Alana C. Moon and Ryan X. Moon; sister, Irene Carden of Burlington.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, Lacy Boyd and Lillian Denny Carden; sisters, Madeline Spencer, Bernice Garrett, Vivian McBane and Marie Black and brothers, Buck and Pete Carden.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice and the Alamance Cancer Center as well as Dr. Janak Choksi for their compassion and support during Shirley’s illness. The family extends a special thank you to her caregiver, Sarah Enoch for her many acts of kindness for Shirley and her family.
A celebration gathering and reception will be held on Friday, November 24, 2017 from 5-7 PM at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.
