GREENSBORO Alice Gallimore Summers passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Blumenthal's Jewish Nursing Center. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry, Vanstory Chapel with Dr. Bob Voorhees officiating. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Family visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Hanes Lineberry Vanstory Chapel from 6 until 8 p.m.
Mrs. Summers was born in Guilford County, North Carolina to the late Frank and Ella Gallimore.
She graduated from Greensboro High School and worked as a clerk at Woolworth's for many years. She was a member of Westover Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of forty-seven years, John Robert Summers.
She is survived by her daughter, Martha Gale Summers of Greensboro and son, Robert F. Summers and wife Helen of Fletcher, NC; granddaughter, Esther Summers; and sister, Edith Lewey.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Westover Church Missions Fund, 505 Muirs Chapel Road, Greensboro, NC 27410, in memory of Alice G. Summers.
