    BURLINGTON — Ms. Pauline Hively Coble, 69, of 4526 Pond Road, Burlington, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as she was surrounded by her family on Thursday, October 23, 2008 at 10:35 a.m.
    A native of Charleston, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Valerie Jarrett Stahl. She retired from Western Electric and Lucent Technologies and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She volunteered at the Good Shepherd Kitchen. She was a member of Swepsonville United Methodist Church and was active in the Pond Road Bible Study Group.
    Survivors include a son, Dexter Barbee Jr. and wife, Irene, of Burlington; two daughters, Tracy Coble Shively and husband, Ken, of Burlington, and Shawn Coble Park of Graham; three sisters, Constance Jane Verity and husband, Jack, and Nancy Lee Olmstead and husband, Dave, all of Melbourne, Fla., and Chrisandra Carol French and husband, Bill, of Seville, Fla.; one brother, Paul William "P.W." Hively and wife, Beth, of Kingsport, Tenn.; and seven grandchildren, Dustin K. Barbee, Travis L. Barbee, Bradley Hunter, Mason Keck, Griffin Shively, Kenry Park and Stuart Hunter.
    She was preceded in death by a brother, Corbett James Burgess; and her stepfather, Oliver Stahl.
    The funeral will be conducted at Swepsonville United Methodist Church on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Jerry Martin. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Park.
    The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Friday from 6 until 8 p.m., and at other times they will be at the residence.
    Memorials may be made to the Good Shepherd Community Kitchen, 206 North Fisher Street, Burlington, N.C. 27217 or to Swepsonville United Methodist Church, 1306 East Main Street, Swepsonville, N.C. 27359.
