Dural Lafoy Straughan
BURLINGTON — Mr. Dural Lafoy Straughan, 83, of 968 West Old Glencoe Road, Burlington, N.C., died at the Hospice Home in Burlington on Sunday, November 2, 2008 at 7:20 p.m.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mary Straughan, who survives, and the son of Lacy Straughan and Lois Ruth Straughan, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a retired employee of Map Enterprises. He attended Hopedale Christian Church.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include a son, Dural G. Straughan and wife, Diana, of Burlington; two brothers, Linwood Straughan and wife, Ruth, of Burlington, and Lee Straughan and wife, Linda, of Randleman; two grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Vivian Straughan.
The funeral will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Robert Cauthren and the Rev. Dr. James Hall. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Wednesday from 12:30 until 2 p.m. prior to the service, and at other times they will be at the residence of the son, Dural G. Straughan, 2270 Carolina Road, Burlington, N.C.
