Obituary Online notes for Marie HENDERSON
Marie Henderson Summers passed away peacefully at the home of her sister on Tuesday, November 9, 2010. She celebrated her 94th birthday this past February. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 12th at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Wilmington with Pastor Jeff Nichols officiating.
Born in Onslow County on February 27, 1916, Marie was one of four children born to the late William Daniel and Hattie Waters Henderson. She was preceded in death by her husband James Harry Summers and two brothers, William Aubrey Henderson and Seth Borden Henderson; sister-in-law Mabel Morris Henderson and brother-in-law Joseph Morton Rogers. She was a member of College Acres Baptist Church.
Marie is survived by her sister, Lucille Henderson Rogers of Wilmington and sister-in-law Margaret Ipock Henderson of Manteo as well as six nephews and one niece.
Marie was a loving wife, sister, aunt and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Pam Powers, Donna Powers, and Sandra Richard for the loving care that was given to their sister and aunt. 470, Marie Henderson Summers
