Charlotte Archer Summers
August 20, 1923 - October 22, 2018
Charlotte Archer Summers, 95 of Greensboro, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Fellowship Presbyterian Church on New Garden Road in Greensboro. An entombment will follow the service at Westminster Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum.
Charlotte was a faithful employee of Guilford County Health Department for over 32 years where was served as a Medical Administrative Assistant. She loved flowers and working in her garden and through the years she designed floral arrangements for family and many friends. She was an active member of the Garden Club in the Starmount Community.
Charlotte faithfully attended Christ United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Circle Group. She also enjoyed hosting lunches for family, co-workers and neighbors.
Mrs. Summers was born on August 20, 1923 to the late Thomas Clyde and Odessa Archer.Preceeded
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lacy W. Summers; sister, Kathleen Parham; brother, Thomas Clyde “T.C.” Archer; and daughter, Elizabeth Graham.
She is survived by her children, Donna Steele (Ned) of Greensboro; Kelly Costello (Neill) of Greenville, South Carolina and Claudia Cotter (Chuck) of Pine Hall. She is also survived by grandchildren Billy Dillon of Greensboro, Ashley Dyson (Matt) of Hickory, Carrie Simpkins (Chris) of Pine Hall, Michael Graham (Jennifer) of Greensboro, Katie Steele of Greensboro, Kristen Steele of Raleigh, Cole Costello of Greenville, South Carolina and Evan Costello of Greenville, South Carolina.
She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Arc of Greensboro, 14-B Oak Branch Dr., Greensboro, NC 27407; Christ United Methodist Church, 410 N. Holden Rd., Greensboro, NC 27410 or to Fellowship Presbyterian Church, 2005 New Garden Rd., Greensboro, NC 27410.
