Mary Ruth Hoyle Loy Bryant Qualls
BURLINGTON — Mary Ruth Hoyle Loy Bryant Qualls, 85, formerly of Tarpley St., passed away Saturday, December 27, 2008, at Clare Bridge. She was the wife of the late Tom Loy, Clyde Bryant and David Qualls Sr. Ruth was born May 14, 1923, in Vance County, N.C., to the late Ernest Edward and Mary Delila Faulkner Hoyle. She retired from Alamance Memorial Hospital and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Kathy Huey-Lane and her husband, Jerry, of Mebane, Melinda Lehman and her husband, Donald, of Rock Hill, S.C., Zelma Heyworth, of Cherryville, NC; sons, Tommy Loy and his wife, Sheila, of Graham, Rev. Samuel Loy and his wife, Wanda, of Clinton, Benny Bryant and his wife, Rose, of Henrico, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-greatgrandchild.
Also surviving are her siblings, Pauline Tate, of Elon, Bertha Mae Mullins, of Cincinnati, OH, Catherine Michael, of Burlington, Beacham Hoyle, of Burlington, and Rev. Bobby Hoyle, of Virginia Beach, VA.
She was preceded in death by her three husbands; parents; a daughter, Clydie Faye Bryant Moser; a grandson, Chuck Heyworth; siblings, Dot Robinson, Henry Hoyle, Edward Hoyle Sr., Rev. Earl Hoyle, Rev. Robert Hoyle, Wheeler Hoyle, Paul Hoyle and Alfred N. Hoyle.
The graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Pine Hill Cemetery by Rev. Rick Webster and Rev. Samuel Loy.
The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Monday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. and at other times at the home of a daughter, Kathy Huey-Lane, 104 E. Laramie Dr., Mebane.
