Loftin "Doodie" Brannock Apple
ELON — Loftin "Doodie" Brannock Apple, 80, of 1931 Stadler Road, died on Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 26, 2009, at Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Aldridge Chapel of LDS in Caswell County.
Doodie was born in Caswell County to the late William Robert Apple and Viola Page Apple. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a farmer. He attended Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Disabled Veterans. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and neighbor. He had a great love for the Lord and was a man of Prayer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Junior Apple, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys S. Apple of the home; children, Janice Siler and husband, Gary, of Kernersville, Donnie Apple and wife, Pattie, of Haw River, Maron Apple and wife, Jonna, of Mebane and Myron Apple of Elon; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a brother, Thomas Apple of Elon.
The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Sunday, Jan. 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. Other times the family will be at the residence.
