Donnie Leo McKinney, 71, of Burlington passed away at his residence on Saturday, January 22, 2022.
A native of Caswell County, he was the son of the late Rufus McKinney and the late Pearl Bryant McKinney. He was a retired employee of Sue-Lynn Textiles and a member of the Lighthouse Chapel.
Survivors include his daughter, Candace Dawn McKinney and her husband Shannon Clayton; sons, Donnie Greg McKinney and his wife Charlene and Terry Joel “T. J.” McKinney; nine grandchildren; sisters, Annie Ruth Rice and Ruby Talley; brothers, Willard McKinney and his wife Mary Jean and Roy McKinney; sister-in-law, Sue McKinney; and brother-in-law, Thurman Oakley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters; Luna Mae Thomas and her husband Junior, Lois Oakley, Jean Matherly and her husband Frank; brothers, James McKinney, Jesse McKinney and his wife Emma and Robert McKinney and his wife Margie Lee; sister-in-law, Starr McKinney; and brothers-in-law, Dwight Perry and Kenneth Rice.
His memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Wednesday, January 26, 2022. The family will receive friends immediately following the funeral service.
