REIDSVILLE — Mrs. Wanda Starr McKinney, 6439 Cherry Grove Road, died at 3:50 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22, 2014, at the Hospice Home of Alamance-Caswell after a battle with lung cancer for six months.
Funeral services will be conducted at Trinity Baptist Church on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Gaylord Dix, the Rev. D.
L. Perry and the Rev. Steve Pruitt officiating. Burial will follow immediately in the church cemetery.
Starr was a native of Caswell County. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church where she served in many capacities as a dedicated Christian. Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Roy Wade McKinney; son, Jason McKinney and wife, Sheila; daughter, Kimberly Wilson and husband, Tyler; grandchildren, Shawn Jones, Jordan McKinney, Samantha and Danielle Wilson, all of Caswell County. Also surviving is her sister, Magdalene Apple; brothers, Joseph Wilson and wife, Betty and Douglas Wilson.
Visitation for Mrs. McKinney will take place on Tuesday evening, September 23, 2014, at Trinity Baptist Church located at 9904 Highway 150 East from 6 until 8 p.m.. At other times, the family will be at the home.
Donations can be made to the “Hope for Starr Benefit” at any Wells Fargo Bank or Hospice Home of Alamance-Caswell, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
