REIDSVILLE — Lula Somers Paschal, 93, of 1137 Rockingham Drive, died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, at Annie Penn Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, at Christian Fellowship Assembly of God and the interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Paschal was born in Rockingham County to the late John W. and Jennie Perkins Somers. She was a charter member of Christian Fellowship Assembly of God, established in 1959 and was the wife of its founder, the late Rev. Loftin Paschal. She was formerly employed with Burlington Industries. Mrs. Paschal was a faithful and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Diane Paschal; sister, Beulah Somers Paschal; and her brothers, Roy and George Somers.
She is survived by her children, Calvin Paschal and wife, Peggy, Elbert Paschal and wife, Louise, Joe Paschal and wife, Christine, all of Reidsville, and Linda Paschal McKinney and husband, Bill, of Pelham; grandchildren, Kay Loftis and husband, Gary, Janet Paschal Lanier and husband, John, Nancy Crouch and fiancé, Neal Hall, Wanda Hill and husband, Keith, Christy Pulliam and husband, Paul, Randy Paschal and wife, Maggie, and Russell McKinney and wife, Lori; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Somers McKinney, of Reidsville; and a large extended family and many special friends.
The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. and other times at her residence.
