Maggie Somers Hogan
ELON, N.C. — Maggie Somers Hogan, 87, of Milesville Road, Elon, died Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Alamance Health Care Center.
A native of Caswell County, N.C., she was a member of Kerr’s Chapel Baptist Church. She was previously employed by the Caswell County Extension Service as an Assistant to the Home Extension Agent.
Maggie enjoyed sewing, making quilts, dolls and all kinds of crafts. She also loved any kind of activity that involved being outside.
Survivors include her daughters, Amy Pattillo and husband Ronnie and Vonda Turner and husband Paul Clayton Turner, all of Burlington; grandchildren, Joshua Whitley and wife Amy of Graham, N.C. and Valerie Whitley, Lynn Pattillo and Morgan Pattillo, all of Burlington; and great-grandchildren, Hayley and Austin Whitley.
She was preceded in death by her son, Gary D. Hogan; parents,RoyJuliusSomersand Lola Jane Simmons Somers; and sister, Edith McPherson.
The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Graham Saturday from 6 until 8 p.m. At other times they will be at the residence of Amy and Ronnie Pattillo, 1258 Kerr’s Chapel Road, Burlington, N.C. 27217.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2011, at Kerr’s Chapel Baptist Church by the Rev. Howard Silver. Burial will be in the Kerr’s Chapel Baptist Church cemetery.
