FRANKLINVILLE - James Reid May, 86, of Mamie May Road, Franklinville, died Monday, October 30, 2006, at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 1, at Bethany United Methodist Church, Franklinville with Rev. Russell J. Brownworth officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
Mr. May was born March 20, 1920, to Frank and Effie Isley May. He retired from Founder's Furniture, Pleasant Garden and had a love of gardening which he and his wife, Mamie shared with neighbors and friends. James was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Franklinville.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Mamie Johnson May; sister, Josephine May Thomas; brothers, Sherman May, Hobert May; and twin, Thomas May.
He is survived by a brother, Cecil May of Liberty; friends, Doug and Cindy Hensley of Climax; and his special pet dog, "Peanut".
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman.
A special thanks to the ER, 3rd and 4th floor staff and nurses at Randolph Hospital for the special care given to James.
