BURLINGTON — Nancy McRae Saunders Johnson, 81, of 1351 Greenwood Drive, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at the Hospice Home.
Mrs. Johnson was born January 11, 1928 in Montgomery County to the late Charlie Alexander and Gertie Smith McRae. Nancy was married to the late Robert L. Johnson who preceded her. She was a homemaker, owner of J & N Recreation and a member of Glencoe Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Jerry Saunders and his wife Deeann of Burlington; two daughters, Pat Brewer of Burlington, and Rene Stutts and her husband Buddy of Liberty; five grandchildren, Annette Setzer, Ryan Brewer, Nicole Briones, Brynn Johnston, and Erynn Johnston; seven great-grandchildren, Geneieve Brewer, Madigan Brewer, Makenzie Brewer, Trevor Brewer, Jeron Setzer, Bailee Setzer, and Bryce Briones; sister, Doris Hunsucker of Southern Pines; brothers, Hobb McRae of Kannapolis and Lawrence McRae of Asheboro; and a special and faithful friend Carol Cantrell.
She was preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, August 14, 2009 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Darrell Massey officiating. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
