Lydia Loy Sutton

     BURLINGTON - Mrs. Lydia Loy Sutton, 93, of 1969 Elon-Ossipee Road, Elon College, died Thursday at the Skilled Nursing Division of Alamance Memorial Hospital.

     Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shallow Ford United Church of Christ, of which she was a member. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

     A native of Guilford County, she was a homemaker.

     Surviving are sons, Edgar L. Sutton of Hagerstown, Md., Melvin Sutton, Boyd Sutton, both of Elon College; daughters, Mrs. Alma Kernodle of Elon College, Mrs. Ruby Freshwater of Graham, Mrs. Pauline Tatum of Burlington; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.

     The family will be at Lowe Funeral Home 7-9 p.m. today, other times at the residence of Boyd Sutton, 1961 Elon-Ossipee Road, Elon College.

     Memorial contributions may be made to Shallow Ford United Church of Christ Memorial Fund, 1262 Shallow Ford Church Road, Elon College, N.C. 27244.
