    BURLINGTON — Mr. C.R. Staley Jr., 81, of 2449 Bellemont-Alamance Road, died at his residence on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009, at 5:50 p.m. following seven months’ declining health.
    A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of 57 years to Faye Harper Staley, who survives, and the son of Colin Robert Staley Sr. and Myrtle Teague Staley, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Staley was a retired co-founder and operator of Staley Hosiery. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the N.C. Lutheran Synod Landbuying Committee.
    In addition to his wife, of the home, survivors include five daughters, Cheryl Carden and husband, Fred, of Burlington, Cathy Staley, of Burlington, Carolyn Teer, of Graham, Deana Staley and husband, Steve Allred, of Elon, and Mary Brown and husband, Paul, of Graham; a son, Bobby Staley and wife, Charlotte, of Burlington; seven grandsons, Brian Shoffner and wife, Janna, T.J. Wilson, Matthew Wilson, Preston Allred, Zachary Allred, Josh Teer and Gray Teer and wife, Tiffany; one granddaughter, Lauren Staley; one greatgranddaughter, Allison Teer; one great-stepgranddaughter, Riley Teer; and a special friend, Terry G. Coble.
    The funeral service will be conducted at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009, at 1 p.m. by the Rev. William Hoss and the Rev. Nathan D. Hooks. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
    The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. At other times they will be at the residence.
    Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215, or to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 2719 Bellemont-Alamance Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215.
