Mrs. Ree Terry Smith


    ELON — Mrs. Ree Terry Smith, 87, of 2968 Midway Church Road, Elon, died at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Monday, October 5, 2009 at 6:45 p.m. following two weeks critical illness.
    A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Hobert Smith and the daughter of Will Terry and Debbie Dimont Terry, both deceased. She retired as a seamstress for Isley Hosiery Mill.
    Survivors include her son, Don Keith Smith of the home; two granddaughters, Donna Kernodle and husband Talmage of Burlington and Debbie Hall (Steve) of Mebane; three great-grandchildren, Kyle DeBruler, Kendall De-Bruler and Cody Hall; three great-stepgrandchildren, Liz Kernodle, Neil Kernodle and Amy Kernodle; and several nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by one sister, Reva Terry Talley.
    The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Thursday, October 8, 2009 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Dave Gilbert. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
    The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. At other times they will be at the residence.
    Memorials may be made to the Veteran’s Van Fund or Homeless Veteran’s Stand Down, Alamance County Veteran’s Services, 217 College Street, Graham, N.C. 27253.
