Betty Lou Jones Allred
 
 BURLINGTON — Betty Lou Jones Allred, 82, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014, at her home surrounded by her family.
 
 She was born in Newport News, Va. to the late Maurice Bernice “Farmer” Jones and the late Helen Elizabeth Ledwitch Jones and was married to the late Lawrence Earl Allred, who died in 2004.
 
 Betty worked at Western Electric for 23 years and was a teacher’s aide at West Oxford Elementary School for 12 years. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and formerly attended West Oxford Baptist Church. Betty was involved with the Carolina Kickers and donated to a variety of charities in the community.
 
 Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Beverly and Ron Brewer of Hurricane, W.Va. and Suzanne A. Graves of Graham; grandchildren and spouses, Tammy Rice, Sylvia McLamb, Brooke Burton, Tina and Phil Hayworth, Kerry and Sarah Burton and Jeremy Rice; great-grandchildren and spouses, Joshua and Samantha McLamb, Brandon Cehan, Sierra Jacobs, Elizabeth Cehan, Dazya Cheek, Devan McLamb, Andy Hayworth, Makayla Burton and Hailey Burton; brother and sister-in-law, John Carl and Betty Jones of Burlington; several nieces and nephews.
 
 She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a son-in-law, Cecil C. Graves.
 
 The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2014, in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Ron Brewer. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
 
 The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Tuesday night at the funeral home and at other times at the home.
 
 Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215 or to The Masonic Home for Children at Oxford, 600 College Street, Oxford, NC 27565.
