Delmar Benney Apple


    ELON — Delmar Benney Apple, 52, of 721 Pagetown Road, died Sunday, November 15, 2009 in Atlantic Beach, N.C.
    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 20, 2009 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with the Rev. D.L. Perry officiating. Interment will follow in Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church cemetery.
    Delmar was born in Alamance County to Inez Brintle Apple and the late Robert Junior Apple. He and his wife, Pamela are the owners and operators of Del-Ray Transport and also a steel reel refurbishing business in Caswell County. Delmar started playing guitar at age 5 and was a former member of the bands, Renegade, Stagecoach and Southern Cross as well as a Willie Nelson impersonator. He loved fishing and boating, but most importantly, he was a loving father, husband, and a good friend to everyone. Delmar is survived by his wife, Pamela Apple of the home; sons, Benjamin Apple and Ethan Apple; daughter, Jamie Comer; stepchildren, Nathan Chehrazi and Shirene Chehrazi; grandson, Konner Cobb; mother, Inez Brintle Apple of Elon; brother, Larry Apple and wife Patricia of Reidsville.
    The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Thursday, November 19, from 6 to 8 p.m.
