Deborah Cox Gooch,70, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 1, 2022. She was born in Alamance County to the late George William and Hazel Simmons Cox and was married 46 years to Basil Kenneth Gooch who survives.
Deborah owned and operated “Deb’s House of Shine” a cleaning service for many years. She enjoyed growing flowers and loved animals. Deborah was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her happiest hours were spent with her grandchildren.
Deborah is survived by her husband, Basil Gooch of the home; son, Cameron Gooch and wife, Laura of McLeansville; grandchildren, Payton and Ava Gooch; her sister, Cathy Light of Burlington, nephew, William Light of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her parents, nephew, David light and a brother-in-law, Earl Light.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 2:00PM at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Elder Ray King. The burial will follow at Gilliam’s Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home prior to the service from 12:30-1:45 PM and other times at the home.
Memorials may be made to Burlington Animal Shelter, 221 Stone Quarry Road, Burlington, NC 27217. 256
