James “Bill” William Garrison


    GREENSBORO — Mr. James ‘Bill” William Garrison, 76, died Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.
    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 22, 2010, at Buffalo Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jessie Bledsoe officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
    Mr. Garrison was born on June 25, 1933 in Alamance County, the son of the late Arthur and Lucille Ingle Garrison. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was a member of Buffalo Presbyterian Church, Revolution Masonic Lodge, Oriental Shrine Club, The Oasis Temple and American Legion Post #552. He was a sales representative with Remco Supply Company.
    Survivors include his wife, Polly Hart Garrison, of the home; a sister, Nell G. Lindley of Archdale; three stepchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces
and nephews and greatgreat-nieces
and nephews.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn Smith Garrison, in 2007; and two sisters, Nina Jean Henderson and Nancy G. Hall.
    The family will receive friends from 7 until 9:00 p.m. Thursday, January 21, 2010, at Forbis and Dick Funeral Home, N. Elm Street.
    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Children Hospital, 950West Fais Road, Greenville, S.C. 29605 or Buffalo Presbyterian Church, 803 16th Street. Greensboro, N.C. 27405 or Southside Baptist Church 1001 Greenhaven Drive, Greensboro, N.C. 27406.
