Alex Daniel Hamlett Jr.


    MEBANE — Mr. Alex Daniel Hamlett Jr., 87, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010. He was a farmer in the Corbett Ridge area and a member of the Carr United Methodist Church.
    Alex is survived by two sisters, Earline Hamlett Oakley of Mebane and Mary H. (Clinton) Praether of Danville, Va.; two brothers, Berkley (Faye) Hamlett of Burlington and Jim (Peggy) Hamlett of Kernersville; and several nieces and nephews.
    Alex is predeceased by his wife, Eunice Murphy Hamlett; mother, Lizzie Winstead Hamlett; father, Alex Daniel Hamlett Sr.; and five brothers, Elwood (Margaret) Hamlett, Malcom (Edna) Hamlett, Charles (Jane) Hamlett, Herman Hamlett and William (Catherine)
Hamlett; and two sisters, Esther Scearce and Louise Adkins.
    The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5 in the Carr United Methodist Church by the Rev. Ronnie Byrd. Visitation will be from 2 to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service Friday. Burial will be in the Cedar Grove United Methodist Church cemetery, 5218 Efland-Cedar Grove Road, Cedar Grove, N.C.
    Viewing will begin Thursday afternoon in Walker’s Funeral Home.
