ELON - Miss Mabel Jones Simmons, 95, of 3801 Cherry Grove Road, Elon, died at the Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center of Alamance on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at 10:15 a.m.
A native of Caswell County, she was the daughter of Jesse Gold Simmons and Minnie Wright Simmons, both deceased. She was a textile worker for 40 years and attended Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sister, Miss Lois Simmons; her brother, Mr. James Simmons; and two nephews, Mr. William E. Simmons Jr. and Mr. Ralph V. Mabe.
She was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers.
A graveside service will be conducted at Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church cemetery on Friday, October 17, 2008 at 11 a.m. by Elder Donald E. Smith.
The family would like to express appreciation to the staff at the Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center of Alamance for their loving care.
