Ruth D. Hilliard, 75, of Graham passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, October 26, 2022.
A native of Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of Peter John Delpriore and Margaret Peck Delpriore, both deceased. For over 25 years, Ruth worked as a Registered Nurse at Alamance Regional Medical Center and Alamance County Hospital. She took much pride in her work, especially as a preceptor for new nurses. Ruth had a large family that she loved dearly. She was known as “the photographer” of the family and could always be found with her camera in hand.
She is survived by six children, Jeanne Zimmerman, Kathy Laufer (Bill), Brian Burke (Karyn), Joanne Ryder (Jay), Braeburn Hilliard, and Rachel Collins (John); three step-children, Tripp Hilliard (Shaunda), Anjie Greeson, and Michelle Turner; grandchildren, Kara Zimmerman, Ryan Zimmerman, Liam Laufer, Hayley Laufer, Sarah Hermance (Jarod), Robbie Burke, Alex Burke, Cooper Collins, Adalyn Collins, Jessa Collins, Taylor Hilliard, Landon Hilliard, Chase Hilliard, and Chris Greeson (Amber); brother, Peter Delpriore (Katy); and four sisters, Mitz Keuter (Junior), Kate Walsh (Joe), Meg Sanger (Mike), and Rachel Wolbert (Mark).
She was preceded in death by a grandchild, Emma Collins, and sister, Faith Delpriore.
A visitation will be held at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham, NC on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
