SUNSET BEACH, N.C. — Nancy Haskins Harris Thomasson, 72, of Sunset Beach, joined the Lord, Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, in Indiana University Methodist Hospital.
ShewasbornonFeb.9,1939, in Greenville, N.C., a daughter of the late Albert Whitney and Ruth Haskins Harris.
After studying in France and graduating from East Carolina University, she married James Wright Thomasson, who preceded her in death in 2009.
She lived in Williamsburg and Richmond, Va., Atlanta, Ga., Salt Lake City, Utah and Carmel, Indiana before retiring from Carmel Clay School System as a teacher. Nancy retired to her beloved North Carolina at Sunset Beach, NC.
She is survived by her sister, Betty Sue Davis and husband George of Rocky Mount; son, Paul “Whit” Thomasson, of Sunset Beach, N.C.; daughter, Paige Thomasson, of Sunset Beach, N.C.; many sistersand-brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 15 in the Seaside United Methodist Church, where she was a member.
Family will receive friends from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the music ministry at Seaside United Methodist Church, 1300 Seaside Road, S.W., Sunset Beach, NC 28469.
