July 11, 1931 ~ November 29, 2021 (age 90)
Burlington-Georgia Ann Pyrant Shambley 90 passed away on Monday, November 29, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late David Elliott Shambley.
Georgia was retired from GE in Mebane after over 20 years of service. She enjoyed flower gardening working jigsaw puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Georgia was always a cheerleader at all her grandkids games. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Survivors include her daughters, Renee Workman of Burlington and Patricia Massey and her husband, Melvin of Elon; son, Ronald Shambley and wife, Lori of Reidsville; grandchildren, Chad Massey and wife, Jade, Kristy Machacek and husband, Michael, Brittany Long Evans and husband, Rodney, Briana Shambley and Taylor Shambley; great grandchildren; Tyler Evans, Reese Evans, Makenzye Moore and Hunter Machacek; her canine companion a chiweenie dog named “Abby”. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, Geoge Andrew and Emma Mae Anderson Pyrant; special granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Workman; sisters, Louis P. Terrell and Lelia P. Hamlettt; a twin brother, George Andrew Pyrant, Jr. and a brother, William Anderson Pyrant.
A special thank you to Briana Shambley her granddaughter, her ride or die that gave so much joy to her life and who took care of her so well. Thanks to Brittany Evans for helping in taking care of her at the end, she was a beloved granddaughter.
A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 2:00pm at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30pm prior to the service on Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory. ****The family request if everyone in attendance would please wear a face mask.***
