ELON — Bertha Simpson Page, 96, of 7240 Kerr’s Chapel Road, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church with Elder David Underwood officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Bertha was born on February 13, 1919, in Caswell County, to the late Grady Chaffin and Ola Mae Robertson Simpson. She attended Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church. She really enjoyed travelling and working with her flowers. She was devoted to her children and especially to all of her grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William “Sam” Page; a grandson, Dana Edwards; three sisters, Ruth Simpson, Edna Moore and Alma Smith, and a brother, Burch Simpson.
Survivors include her children, Ervin Page, Betty Page Oakley and husband Bobby, Wilma Page Parker and husband Clarence, Linda Page Foushee, Carolyn Page Miles and husband Donnie, Margaret Page Rivera and Pamela Page Edwards; 12 grandchildren; 20 greatgrandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 29, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Reidsville and other times at the home.
The family would like to express a special thank you to all of the staff at Hospice of Alamance-Caswell for their care for Bertha.
