Mamie Barts Fuqua
   LEASBURG — Mamie Barts Fuqua, 96, of 468 Fuqua Road, passed away Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, at her residence.

   She was born October 13, 1913, in Caswell County to John Anderson Barts and Mary Bell Cobb Barts. She attended Caswell County schools, and was married to the late John Arch Fuqua. She was a housewife, farmer and gardener. She loved to take trips with her family and friends and loved to cook for everyone. She loved to visit people and listen to music. She was a member of Ridge Bethel Methodist Church.

   Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Harrelson Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Charles Briggs and assisted by Chaplain Laurell Strom-Jewson. Interment will be at Kerr Chapel Church cemetery.

   Survivors are daughters, Doris F. Powell of Sutherlin, Va., Pencie S. Carroll and Margie S. Humphries both of Leasburg; sons, Ralph Fuqua and friend Debbie, Bobby Fuqua and friend Bonnie, both of Leasburg, and Wayne Fuqua of Mebane; grandchildren , Grey P. Arrington and husband Reggie, Karen P. Davis and husband Terry, Penny P. Woody and husband James, Monty C. Whitt and fiancé Barry, Andy Fuqua and friend Jean, Mitch, Mike, and Chris Elliott, Renee McPherson and husband Michael, Chris Fuqua and friend Cindy, Jennifer Williams and Randy King; great-grandchildren, Charles, B.J. and wife Samantha, Zachary, Anna, Michaela, Katelyn, Tammy and husband Jason, Raymond Jr., Kim and friend Dustin, Ryan, Harley, Brittany, Celesa, Kody, and Jessie; great-great-grandchildren, Tori Anne, Ashton and Wyatt.

   In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two sisters; and seven brothers.

   The family would like to send a special thanks to the Meals On Wheels Program.

   Family will receive friends Monday, Sept. 27, 2010, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Harrelson Funeral Home and at other times at the residence.

   Harrelson Funeral Service, of Yanceyville, is assisting the Fuqua family with arrangements.
