Eva Terrell Webster
BURLINGTON — Mrs. Eva Terrell Webster, 87, of 662-4 Boone Station Drive, Burlington, died at the Hospice Unit at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital on Friday, Feb. 11, 2011 at 8:05 a.m.
A native of Caswell County, she was the wife of the late Carl Olen Webster and the daughter of William Wesley Terrell and Fannie Bet Underwood Terrell, both deceased. She was an optometric assistant for Dr. Mewborn at Mewborn Eye Clinic and was formerly co-owner of Webster Hosiery Mill. Eva was a member of the First Baptist Church of Burlington for 79 years where she taught and worked in the Children’s Ministry for many years, sang in the choir and served on various committees.
Survivors include one daughter, Ms. Marie Webster of Burlington; one son, David Webster and wife Madge of Chapel Hill; two grandchildren, David Webster and Andrew Webster; and one sister, Mrs. Cora Mae Lackey of Burlington.
She was preceded in death by one grandchild, Natalie Webster and nine brothers and sisters, Roy Wilson Terrell, Onie Terrell Crutchfield and husband Brack, Effie Terrell Hayes and husband Jewel, Hattie Ida Terrell, Blanche Terrell Walker and husband Bruce, Fannie Terrell Overman and husband Bennie, the Rev. William Isaac Terrell and wife Mildred, Bessie Terrell Knox and husband Boyce, Doris Terrell Hunter and husband Walker, and Rupert Lackey, husband of Cora Mae.
The funeral service will be conducted at the First Baptist Church of Burlington on Monday, Feb. 14, 2011 at 11 a.m. by Dr. Terry Peele and Dr. Dale Steele. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. At other times they will be at the residence of her daughter, Marie Webster, 662-4 Boone Station Drive, Burlington, N.C. 27215.
