 BURLINGTON — James “Jimmy” England Flinchum, 82, died Friday, Aug. 7, 2015, at the Hospice Home in Burlington.
 
 A native of Rockingham County, Mr. Flinchum was the husband of the late Peggy Ann Flinchum and the son of the late Lemuel Earnest Flinchum and the late Esther Pulliam Flinchum.
 
 Mr. Flinchum retired from the City of Burlington Water Resources Department. He was a retired United States Navy veteran, serving in Korea and Vietnam. Mr. Flinchum was a longtime member of Low’s Lutheran Church, where he was also a former Sunday School teacher. Mr. Flinchum was a member of Bula Masonic Lodge #409 AF & AM in Burlington and the Burlington Shrine Club.
 
 Mr. Flinchum is survived by a son, James Edward “Eddie” Flinchum and wife Cheryl, of Burlington; two grandsons, Kasey Flinchum and Brandon Flinchum, both of Burlington; granddaughter, Megan Cathey and husband Zack, of Burlington; two great-grandchildren, Elisha Cathey and Colton Cathey; two brothers, Frank Flinchum of Burlington and David Flinchum of Eden; a sister, Nadine Matthews of Kitty Hawk; and several nieces and nephews.
 
 In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Flinchum was preceded in death by a brother, Tex Flinchum.
 
 The family will receive friends Sunday, Aug. 9, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Rich and Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington. At other times they will be at the Flinchum residence.
 
 A funeral service will be conducted Monday, Aug. 10, at 2 p.m. at Low’s Lutheran Church, officiating will be Pastor John Mark Beam. Burial, with Masonic Rites, will follow in the church cemetery. All Masons planning to attend please arrive at the church by 1:30 p.m.
 
 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215 or Low’s Lutheran Church Carpet Fund, 2136 NC 61, Liberty, NC 27298.
